What is a denture facelift?

Through the years of wearing dentures 2 main situations occur which can result in a lack facial support , the denture teeth wear down and the anatomy shrinks. This contributes to a poor lip support and an unnatural smile. This happens gradually and can vary from patient to patient. At the cosmetic denture clinic we aim to correct this by positioning the new teeth to enhance the facial support for a natural well balanced smile.

The distance between the black line increases the lower third of the face giving a more youthful appearance.

Here we have a similar situation, the first 3 pictures in the sequence are before denture treatment starts and show a lack of facial support. The next 3 pictures are after denture treatment, the black lines have increased in distance , which is a result of better facial height and a more youthful appearance.

The angle of the red line has changed quite considerably (more vertical) which is a result of using dentures to lift and correct facial support.
